The inspiration for this drawing was a wolf in the Highland Wildlife Park in Kingussie, Scotland. It was just before feeding time and the wolf knew it. His whole body was totally focused in anticipation.
I wanted to work with a monochrome palette on a white background. To capture the intensity of his stare I had to concentrate on the eye and angle of the head only.
